Spaghetti Squash

Two weeks ago our Relief Society went to a cider mill. For those of you who aren't familiar with cider mills, it is a place where they make apple cider and then sell apple cider with various products that are closely related or foster nostalgia like donuts and other produce items. To my 'delight one of these produce items was spaghetti squash. I have not eaten spaghetti squash since I was proabably nine or ten. I don't like squash in general but I loved spaghetti squash. My mom would make it and we would eat it with delicious marinara sauce and cheese to top it off.

Because of all these happy memories I decided to buy one and give it a go myself. I don't think mine got cooked long enough but it still turned out all delicious. Here are some pictures of the process and outcome:

Yes, not even spaghetti squash can inspire any type of love in my heart for this Italian favorite.

Why do you hate Italian people and the food they love?

I've always been afraid of spaghetti squash. Maybe we'll have to give it a try.

I love spe-gheti-squash. It is my favorite kind. But matt wont touch it...I wonder why you came away with fond memories and he is all anti.

Mike said "bad memories, bad memories" so I guess we won't be trying it after all.

How is it that I came out of the spaghetti squash experience nostalgic and everyone else seems scarred by it? I hope my siblings cold, bleak souls do not affect posterity.

I am just happy that I am at least validated in my dislike of spaghetti when it is made with spaghetti squash, especially since everyone looks at me weird when I say that I my version of hell will only have spaghetti to eat.
