Golf Lessons

I was talking with some friend about golfing, reminiscing about the summer of my fourteenth year (or was it fifteenth) when I took golf lessons. I was not consistently good but I could hit a few drives in a mostly straight line. This conversation inspired me to try my hand at the game again. I wasn't ready for an actual course yet so I asked some golf-minded friends to go to the driving range with me. It was slow-going at first but I finally got off some great drives.

I learned most of what I do know about golf from my brothers, so I had Martha take a video so they can critique my swing and give me instruction (or anyone else with an informed opinion).

Here we are in all our golfing glory

The first thing you need to do is get an aerifier across that tee box and then some sand and seed to get those divots healed up. As for your swing, I'm really quite impressed how smooth it is (Liz is impressed you can actually make contact with a ball since she cant). To fix your slice, on your follow through, turn your hips and whole body toward your target. Matt

Ooh, fancy. That's all I can say.

Good thing you clarified for Matthew and Adam who you were. And I think Michael may be just a bit hurt that you didn't invite him to critique your swing. And I am a bit hurt too. If nothing else I could critique your hat, which is actually very cute, wait...that may be because I have a hat almost exactly like that.

Kirsten- at the end of the video I invited James and Mike to critique as well, but understand that they don't spend as much time golfing as Matt and Adam.

Just to clarify the earlier post that was from me, Mike. I just received word from Barnes and Noble that my book can also be found in the children's self help section, foreign languages section, and in the religious and spiritual section right next to the Bible. Chenoa also wrote a book called "How to golf once every three years and still be fricken' awesome, although not quite as awesome as my husband, Mike, at golf." It is real bargain, priced several dollars cheaper than my book. (Note any typos in any of these comments should be attributed to the feral spider monkey that does all of my typing. I would get rid of him but he works cheap.)

To clarify my earlier comments. You would need a 1/2 hollow tine with side eject, set at about a 3 inch depth with a 2 inch spacing. A 2:1 sand to seed mix topdressed over those divots and work in the sand/seed and plugs, regular watering and you should have a nice teeing areas in about 3 weeks. Matt
